With any insurance, you want to be adequately covered if you get in an accident, You also don’t want to pay the car insurance companies too much. In general, if you’ve had a policy in place a couple years – there is money to be saved. To find the right auto insurance, start by determining the amount of coverage you need. The legal minimum amount varies from state to state.

General recommendations for liability minimums are $50,000 bodily injury liability for one person injured in an accident, $100,000 to cover all people injured in an accident and $25,000 property damage liability (that is, 50/100/25). Obviously, car insurance rates vary from one provider to another. Another issue to consider is that the limits of any uninsured and/or underinsured motorist coverage that you purchase cannot exceed the limits of your liability coverage. Such coverage, he said, can be valuable, as it will cover lost income if you’re out of work for several months after being injured in a major accident.

If you’re seeking low cost auto insurance, your driving habits may also be a consideration. If your past is filled with crumpled fenders, if you have a lead foot or a long commute on a treacherous winding road, then you should get more comprehensive coverage. Keep in mind that you don’t have to buy collision and comprehensive coverage. If your vehicle is older, if you have a good driving record and if there is a low likelihood that it would be totaled in an accident, but a high likelihood of it being stolen, you could buy comprehensive but not collision.

Times are aggressive right now. House prices have tanked, so the corresponding amount of equity has dropped. The result is that the banks NEED to refinance people because – quite simply – they aren’t making their numbers. If you have a home refinance bad credit is easy.

It’s never been easier to do a bad credit home refinance than now. Despite all the doom and gloom on the news, banks are aggressively trying to squeeze people into these newly created government programs. With a couple hours of telephone investment, you should be able to get a much better deal and save yourself a boatload of money in the meantime.

Bad credit mortgage refinance is possible, but you’ll never know until you try. Refinance.com is a great site to get started. They have information specific to your individual state, information about FHA and VA options.

Interest rates are now at a 30 year low, if current interest rates have dropped since you secured your mortgage, you may be able to get a new loan (or ‘refinance’) with a lower interest rate. Refinancing would then reduce your interest costs (unless you plan on increasing the term of the loan) and possibly your monthly payment costs.

Well, this is one of those of times that everyone has a little bit of time/space to reflect on their lives, their recent accomplishments, their home price and the upcoming presidential election. Best of all, they can do it while getting loaded and eating turkey – the traditional meal for Thanksgiving – also known as “Turkey Day”.

We get to see USC play Arizona State.

The Cowboys play.

Oh yeah, this blog is about Life as it Relates to Technology. So Here goes:

I am thankful I don’t have to check my email all day. (but I will anyway)

I am thankful I can send my friends text messages wishing them happy Thanksgiving and not actually having to waste time talking to them.

I am thankful I can watch Turkey Day Videos on my computer via YouTube.

I am thankful that Morrisey did such a great job putting together, “Every Day is Like Sunday“. Yes, this has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but it is still a great song.

I’d like to give thanks to all the people who read this.

I’m hopefully going to be thankful tomorrow when I buy an Asus EEE pc when someone drops the price by $100 as a T-Day bonus.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Thomson Delmar Learning recognized outstanding technicians at a recent awards banquet sponsored by ASE. At the banquet, ASE and Thomson Delmar Learning honored Steve Driza, Jr. who received the highest composite score on the fall 2005 and spring 2006 ASE exams, scoring highest out of 350,000 other test-takers, earning him the Master Automotive Technician award.

Driza’s performance earned him the well deserved Thomson Delmar Learning/ASE Master Automotive Technician of the Year award, which came complete with a plaque and monetary award as well as an all-expenses paid trip to San Antonio, TX, for himself and his wife. Driza has been an automotive technician for 30 years and has earned the reputation of being extremely dedicated to his job. He has many loyal customers due to his hard-working nature and his impressive skill.

“It’s hard-working technicians like Steve who remind us why creating our ASE Test Preparation materials is so worth while,” said Kristen Davis, director of professional automotive and trucking learning solutions at Thomson Delmar Learning. “His exemplary work and dedication to the trade are exactly what we wish for all technicians. Like ASE, Thomson Delmar Learning strives for excellence and it’s our goal that the products we create help technicians reach excellence in their own careers.”

My wife is generally a nice person. However, when October rolls around she tortures our dogs year after year. For the other part of the year, she feeds them so lavishly (raw meat) they have no choice but to submit.

Unfortunately, we lost our favorite Costume Hound in 2005. Halloween came and went last year, and, for the most part, the dogs were safe.

Not this year.

We are a “foster” family for Rhodesian Ridgebacks – meaning that when someone gets rid of their Ridgeback, we take them in…

These dogs then wreak havoc on our couches, wood floors, landscaping, shoes, etc..(which is usually why their owners chose to do away with them to begin with).

After several weeks, some unsuspecting person who wants a cheap Ridgeback (they go for about $1500 new) decides to go the “rescue route.” We then place the destructive beast in a new “home” and the process begins anew.

This year, we have an especially sweet Ridgeback named Kendra. Look how happy she is!

That cowboy is my son. Together, they won first place despite my shoddy workmanship on the horse ears (notice the felt coming off in the picture).

Wise Man Say, “Dogs Bite for Reason.”

A quick blog on a crazy coincidence two years ago. My buddy, Tom Wyatt are hiking around lake Tahoe. We come down early after nearly starting an enormous forest fire. Over the next 12 hours we lose hundreds of dollars taking the Oklahoma Sooners over Oregon despite the fact they are giving 27 points (OU 31, Oregon 7). This is when I began hating Oregon (see http://www.voidgame.com). We also win hundreds of dollars betting on Bernard Hopkins to knock out De La Hoya in the 9th.

Hopkins crushed De La Hoya with a liver punch.

from ESPN:

To assess the effect of a liver punch, we called on that “Human Punching Bag,” Randall “Tex” Cobb who said that a liver punch thrown in a sparring session with Greg Page was the only punch that had ever hurt him. According to Cobb, “Page hit me in the liver and I just stood there, frozen, mouth open. (Trainer) Georgie Benton called out “Time’ and asked if I was ‘okay.’ All I could say was ‘aaaaargh.’”

Anyway, we woke up the next day and headed to the Sacramento airport. I felt as if I had taken the liver punch. Hiking, drinking, cigars, gambling…..

On the way to airport, I discovered a great song by Snow Patrol called, “How to be dead” on his iPOD. We played it repeatedly.

I got back and googled “how to be dead.mp3.” I skipped the first hundred results as they would inevitably be file sharing sites. One site then stood out, www.specfuckingtacular.com. I went there, downloaded the mp3 and surfed a little. I clicked on his photos and there was a link titled, “1412 W. Argyle” midway down the page.

Here is where it gets weird: I lived at 1412 W. Argyle in 1998. 1412 W. Argyle is a 6 unit apartment in Chicago’s still up and coming Andersonville area. I clicked the link and saw the same apartment I had resided in about 6 years earlier – still dilapidated - still with huge water stains under the dishwasher. It was very unsettling.

I told my wife. She didn’t care. I told my bud Tom. He didn’t believe me (or he didn’t care). I emailed the specfucky guy. He either didn’t care, or thought I was a stalker.

I took it as a sign from God. The odds are astronomical. Much greater than a Hopkins KO in the ninth.
